Paul Leppin

Paul Leppin(1878-1945) is seen as the spokesman of the mysterious and erotic atmosphere of old Prague. He was arrested by the Gestapo in 1939 and suffered two strokes after his release and died from syphilis in 1945. Dedalus published his two short novels Daniel Jesus and Severin's Road to Darkness under the title of The Road to Darkness. His novel Blaugast written in 1932 and published posthumously in 1948 is featured in The Dedalus Book of German Decadence.
