Christine Leunens

Christine Leunens was born in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of an Italian mother and a Belgian Flemish father. After graduating from the University of North Carolina she went to live in Europe with the intention of becoming a writer but ended up a fashion model, working for Givenchy, Pierre Balmain, Paco Rabanne and Nina Ricci.

Christine Leunens now lives in New Zealand with her husband and three children. She is the author of three novels. Her holocaust novel Caging Skies has been made into a film by Taika Waititi for Fox Searchlight starring Scarlett Johansson under the title of Jojo Rabbit.
